I've been lurking in #ecere on IRC for some time now, having found it while looking for a programming chat that didn't suck (read: looking for a room not full of elitists), but I haven't yet put forth the effort to learn to use Ecere - I'm currently doing web programming with Python and Django.
When I do decide to start with software development, Ecere is where I intend to turn.
I've got an idea for an application I'd like to realize, but I haven't even started looking at tutorials yet and I've got a lot on my plate at present. We'll see what happens!
